What sentence am I likely to get for an assault that led to injury?

As someone was injured it will be classed as serious assault and things don’t look to good for you. The ticket inspector was doing his job and you assaulted him which then caused an innocent person to be injured. Go with advice from your solicitor but the fact that this was all done because you were running late is not much of an excuse.

Your sentence will be reduced if you plead guilty. What sentence you get will depend on many things, previous etc. Ask your Solicitor, they should have a good idea.

Don’t panic just yet! Firstly, and most importantly you did not intend for the old lady to get injured (no matter how serious the injury) The level of assault have been charged with here is the important thing. If its common assault, or assault resulting in actual bodily harm (most likely) then a guilty plea, plenty of remorse, a genuine apology to the old lady, some evidence of charity work, clear record should mean you’ll get a fine. The fact that you are employed, and any community service will adversely affect this, means any judge/magistrate will not want to do this. The whole point of the criminal justice system is to stop you re-offending, and ensuring you lose your job, become a burden on the community and possibly turn to crime is not their aim, expecially for these offences. Monetary penalty in this instance, absolutely gaurenteed. However, if you have been charged with Grievous Bodily Harm (actually it will be being reckless as to cause GBH) then you want to be pleading NOT
