What semi-auto rimefire rifles can you get in Western Australia?
You will need to look at how hard it is to get category C licence where you are from as that will allow you to get a semi-auto 22 rim-fire with up to a 10 round mag. If it is too hard then you can get a pump or leaver action on a category A licence, which is what most people do to get a “fun gun” 22. You will need to talk to weapons licencing in your state as the rules are different from state to state but cat C is normally only given to primary producers or occupational shooters. Cat A will cover all rim-fires (other than semi-auto) and double barrel shotguns as well, but for center-fire rifles you will need cat B. For a semi-auto rim-fire with less than 10 shots and pump action shotguns of less than 5 shots you will need a cat C licence. Semi-auto rim-fire of more than 10 shot, pump action shotguns of more then 5 shot and any semi-auto center-fire will require cat D licence, which is very hard to get unless you are a professional shooter.
