4. April 2009 Dear Mr. Steinhoff, I am contacting you to provide feedback regarding your book “Scanning Negatives and Slides” and for some information. I encountered your book whilst browsing Amazon for prices on various film scanners and bought it for the following reason. I have taken a lot of 35mm slides over the years and would like to turn them into digital images. I have time to do it myself, enjoy working with my digital camera images in PhotoShop Elements so it seemed an obvious decision to buy a scanner – especially when I found out the cost of having slides scanned for me. However, that was when the confusion started. On discussion with friends who are camera enthusiasts I found both the view that it was possible to do it myself and the opposite, that it was too complicated and time consuming.
