What sample design will be used, eg, census, stratified simple random sample?
(H1) A stratified sample design will be used, with simple random sampling used within strata. What stratification has been used in the sample design? (H2) The sample will be stratified by state, industry and employment size. This stratification is to enable the production of reliable national estimates, industry division estimates, state estimates and employment size estimates, to support the key performance measure referred to in Sections A and B. What allowances have been made for expected non-response and frame deficiencies in the sample design? (H8) The initial sample size of 15,000 is designed to account for defunct units and non-response. Will outliers be identified, and, if so, how will they be handled? (I2) Unusual/suspicious responses can be back-checked by telephoning the respondent (provided there are mechanisms in place for identifying them). Data editing should pick up responses more than x times the anticipated value (e.g. the stratum mean). ‘x’ will have to be determined
