What safety precautions should fencers take?
• As with other sports, before fencers are permitted to fence, they are required to warm up in a group warm up or individually (as directed by the coaches). This is done to ensure fencers muscles warm up adequately therefore minimizing any possibility of injury to the body. Fencers are also expected to perform stretching exercises for several minutes to warm down after fencing training has finished. • The clothing and equipment should be worn and held at all times, as directed by the coaches and club committee members. This will ensure that all the fencers and visitors to the club are not hurt.
