NASA has a number of procedures in place to ensure the safety of the public, decommissioning workers and the environment. No decommissioning work that generates dust is undertaken when possible severe weather is forecast and workers will not operate outdoor mobile cranes in high winds. The Decommissioning Project has an emergency generator system to provide power when needed.
