There are programs on campus designed to promote safety on campus. It is also critical that each community member practice safety precautions. Students walking on campus after dark should take advantage of the WALKSAFER service. Students can call WALKSAFER at 416-287-7022 and two patrollers will meet the student at their location and walk them to their desired destination. Hours of operation are 7:00 p.m. to 12:15 a.m. Monday to Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Thursdays and 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Fridays, except for official university closings. UTSC police assist students after hours. For students who drive to campus and park in the outer lots the RIDESAFER Service is a safety initiative that is designed to provide community members who park in the outer parking lots with a safer alternative to walking to their parked vehicles alone. The hours of operation are: Monday toThursday 4:15 p.m. to 11:15 p.m. and Friday 1:45 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.
