What safeguards have been incorporated in Creek Marina w.r.t earthquakes?
When Creek Marina project was being designed – a year ago – Meinhardt (Singapore) as the project managers and design consultants for this prestigious project had elected to design the building structure for seismic intensity equivalent to Zone 4, even though Karachi is only classified as Zone 2.This means that Creek Marina structure can withstand the highest level of earthquake that can be expected during the lifecycle of the building. Although this has increased the construction cost of Creek Marina project a lot more than the Zone 2 design, it was considered to be a worthwhile price to pay to ensure and enhance the safety of Creek Marina occupants.
