The revised ISO 9001 was developed to have enhanced compatibility with ISO 14001, particularly with regard to terminology and content. There is close collaboration between the technical experts of ISO/TC 176 and ISO/TC 207 (the Technical Committee responsible for the ISO 14000 series of standards). ISO 14001 and ISO 14004 are currently being revised by ISO/TC 207/SC 1. This will provide the opportunity for further enhancement of the compatibility between the ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 standards.
