What rules need to be followed if the Olympics are used in messaging to tour operator clients?
Only official Olympic sponsors, licensees and government partners are allowed to use the Olympic Brand in Canada, in accordance with the terms and conditions of their agreement with VANOC or the IOC. In December 2007, VANOC established the 2010 Olympic/Paralympic Brand Management Guidelines to provide the Canadian public with an overview of why and how VANOC is protecting the Brand. The guidelines also address questions on how to engage in the opportunities presented by the 2010 Winter Games without infringing on the Olympic/Paralympic Brand.
