What router do i need for video games and laptop/computer?
You will need 2 things. First, you need a modem. Then you either need to choose a router, or wireless router. Router- Pros- Having everything connected my cable reduces any lag, or interference. Cons- You have wires running EVERYWHERE, and if you have a xbox downstairs, then you need to run a 100 foot long wire. Wireless Router- Pros- Extremely nice to have everything WIRELESS, no bundles of wires everywhere, and you can still have the components connected by wires if you choose. Cons- You can get interference which would create your internet speed to drop. And your internet speed is also determined by the wireless signal. So components closer to the wireless router will receive a better internet speed, compared to components further away. So if you have your xbox, ps3, wii, & computer all in different rooms, then getting a wireless router is the best route. Understand that everyone has there own personal preference.
