What roles do group leaders play?
• Take responsibility to be a true administrative organizer for the group. This includes keeping contact with all other group members and coordinating the efforts of all group members to maximize the quality of the annotation. • Participate regularly in the weekly telephone conferences with other group leaders and the members of the International Aphid Genomic Consortium (IAGC). • Keep up-to-date with and explain the community nomenclature standards to group members. • Collaboratively generate a gene list with group members for your group. • Recruit researchers to contribute manual annotations for genome structures related to their research interests from the entomology community. • Stay up-to-date on the annotation tools, framework and pipelines available for annotation and communities with group members about updates. • Coordinate your group’s efforts to contribute to the main genome paper and write and publish companion papers. • Review submitted publication/research proposals and c
