What role will UNEP play in the Assessment?
UNEP will handle the administration of more than half of the core financial support (GEF, UN Foundation, and World Bank) and employ the Director, who will be based at ICLARM in Malaysia. In this role, UNEP plays a key role in helping to coordinate the MA Secretariat. ., UNEP (through the UNEP World Conservation Monitoring Centre) will also serve as one of the “executing agencies” providing administrative support to Working Group #1.
