What role will the public play in updating the Forest travel plan and designating routes?
The Forest intends for this decision to be made after a very open public process. There will be substantial and meaningful opportunities for public input prior to release of the Final Environmental Impact Statement. The Forest is particularly interested in receiving site-specific comments concerning proposed route designations, travel rules, and the completeness of our route inventory. Modifications to the proposed action will be based on identified issues along with specific information. Only alternatives consistent with the purpose and need for the project will receive full consideration in the disclosure and decision process.
