What role is the Heartland Project Team playing in the AESO’s study of underground?
The AESO has requested the Heartland Project Team’s input into several aspects of the study about underground transmission technology, including: • Transmission line right-of-way information specific to potential routes (i. e., road crossings, water crossings, buried pipeline locations, etc.) which require traversing with underground cable. • Information regarding transportation limitations (i. e., transporting large reels of cable to installation locations). • Input on operation and maintenance since the Heartland Project Team will be required to construct, own and operate the facilities if the project is approved. • Other input as the study progresses.
