What role is SAARC playing in Pakistan?
H.Khairi: Well, the role of SAARC is no doubt very successful in Pakistan. Infact I have attended some meetings of SAARC, but I feel in many fields, it requires full cooperation. To mention the first is health, trade and commerce. No straight work has been done. It is only in the field of Law that much contribution has been made by the SAARC countries and there have been periodical meetings amongst the members of SAARC for making its role successful and no doubt it has been successful to a great extent. Q: Is the Law Ministry making any effort with the education Ministry to create awareness about the basic Laws? H.Khairi: Yes we have Federal Tradition Academy in Islamabad dealing with the principles of Law and which takes classes of Judges of sub-ordinate courts and also takes classes of students of Law as well.
