What role does the Vendor Workgroup play?
The Vendor Workgroup was convened by the Joint Governance Board for Financial Systems Procurement Domain Owners to guide the development of a single state-wide vendor management system for New York State. The workgroup works closely with Procurement Domain Owners as well as the FOCAS and NYFMS Project teams to identify current procurement and vendor issues from the agency prospective. Some of these issues include providing research and detailed insights on agency-specific procurement in Joint Application Design sessions related to procurement and vendor management, helping define financial management system interface requirements and contributing to a statewide view of vendor file design and maintenance. The workgroup is addressing issues such as how to create and maintain a central State vendor file, how vendors will input and update their information, and how the future system will link contracts, payments and vendors together.
