What role does the Packaging Council of Australia play in regards to packaging of products?
The PCA is an industry association whose members include raw material suppliers, packaging manufacturers, brandowners and the users of packaging as well as retailers and designers and consultants. We do not get involved in the packaging decisions about specific products – that is a matter for individual companies. We are, however, very active in Standards Australia Committee’s on packaging standards covering such issues a s child resistant closures, tamper evident issues, packaging strengths etc as well as environmental issues concerning litter and recycling.
