What role does the eThekwini Municipality play in the development of the Durban Point?
Apart from being a shareholder in the project, the role of the eThekwini Municipality is the same that it would play in any major development, namely to ensure that the development regulations which fall under its jurisdiction are correctly applied and implemented. The Municipality has budgeted R300m over the next three to five years for investment in infrastructure in and around the Durban Point development area for the provision of electricity, road extensions, landscaping and beachfront rehabilitation.
