What role does Street Art play in hip hop play culture?
Street art is an evolution of graffiti, which is a component of hip-hop culture. HipHopCanada: How did Marc Ecko Watches get involved in this project? I approached MEW to sponsor because of the brand’s ethos and involvement with Graffiti culture. Marc Ecko has incorporated art into his products and the brand actively supports graf and street art culture, internationally. HipHopCanada: You produced the 416 Graffiti Expo for years. What did you learn from that initiative and how are you applying your learnings to UNLTD? Through the 416 I gained an understanding of graffiti art and an appreciation for the artists’ talent.
