What role does fatliquor play on lightfastness of leather?
Many fatliquoring agents have a more or less pronounced inherent colour which often intensifies due to oxidation and shifts the colour of the leather. However, upon exposure to ultra-violet light, bleaching effect is mainly caused by fatliquoring agents. To avoid this bleaching effect, fatliquors which are lightfast should be used.
