What role does Anthony Daniels (C3PO) play in the Star Wars in Concert Tour?
Anthony Daniels has toured with the London version of ‘Star Wars: In Concert,’ and he will do it again when the show comes to the United States. Daniels played the droid C-3PO in the ‘Star Wars movies, and he narrates the two hour concert. I have a bit of personal connection to the movie and the man. When me eldest son was five, I took him to see the first Star Wars movie over the objections of his mother, and that is the first movie he recalls seeing. Fast forward twenty plus years, and my son is working for Lucasfilms and is given the task of finding one of the original C-3PO costumes so Anthony Daniels can get into it again to record promos for Star Wars II. After months of searching he finally found the costume, he and another staff member had to help Daniels with the two-hour process of getting into it. When the task was completed, my son was amazed. He later told me that it was one of the greatest moments in his career, realizing that he had just helped the real C-3PO into costum

The musical score for Star Wars has become familiar to all fans. It’s now on tour with “Star Wars in Concert”, which features both a symphony orchestra and choir performing John Williams’ music from all six “Star Wars” films. It will be narrated by “C-3P0 actor Anthony Daniels and accompanied by a three-story-tall high-definition screen displaying movie footage synchronized to the live music.” Daniels notes that he’s appearing as narrator, not 3PO. He says his role in “Star Wars in Concert” is to be the host and narrator, not a character in the show (although noting that 3PO will naturally appear in the visual clips that accompany the music). He adds, “I very simply tell the story in segements. 3P0 certianly features on screen quite a lot, and there are moments on stage when his spirit shines through.” Sources: http://www.google.
