What role do the governors and their adjutants general play in BRAC and Future Total Force?
The channel of communication to and from the governors is through the adjutants general and the National Guard Bureau, which acts on behalf of the Air Force and the Army. However, in order to ensure the adjutant general input into the FTF processes and direction, officials included three adjutants general at the FTF General Officer Steering Group — the last one met 28 Apr 05. The Air Force also have two adjutant general representatives who work daily as part of the plans and programs staff. Bi-weekly updates are sent to the adjutants general.
