What role do parents/caring adults play in a K12 High School education?
• Parents/caring adults are set up as mentors who engage in the student’s activities and with the teacher. Parents/caring adults are not the primary teacher/subject matter experts for the high school courses. Mentors greatly influence student success by working with the student/teacher to keep students on schedule and helping flag and resolve issues with their student and teacher. Therefore, parents/caring adults are encouraged to play an active mentor role.
