What role did most women play during WWII? What was most interesting about it?
During WWII, women played an important role, the impact they made was highly significant. In the military side, woman were limited to nursing at military hospitals. In the industrial side, the high number of men that were called for war left a high number of positions open in the private sector, most in factories. The war had a posed a high demand for armament, gear, vehicles, planes, and many other products. With a shortage of men, the government came out with “Rossie, the riveter” ideology into our culture (remember the poster with rossie saying “We can do it”). Women of all sorts put on working gloves and took over those jobs. The logistical impact was tremendous. Women played a very important role in our history.
