A. It’s a place where you get creative ideas about how to approach a problem. Understanding environmental problems requires science and those who do science are based in the universities, so the universities are basically the place where you can best identify what the problems are and what the various dimensions of the problems are. Climate change, for example, is a very complicated problem. We don’t know all of the answers to how the climate works. And the solutions aren’t simple either. But I think that those are the main reasons why universities are one of the principle places.
