What Road Did The American Pioneers Use?
The Pioneers all used the Oregon Trail to travel the length of the United States in their covered wagons and settled new regions in the United States of America. The Oregon Trail can be traced back to the 19th century. It passes through the American states of Missouri, Kansas, Wyoming, Nebraska, Idaho and Oregon. The trail extended nearly three and a half thousand kilometres. The Oregon Trail has now become a part of American heritage, culture and folk lore. It is seen depicted in several films and cartoons as well. Once the trail was discovered it did not lead to an immediate rush as early reports described the western lands as inhospitable. The thing that interested them most was the offer and promise of free land. The native Indians were probably dead of disease or the sickness of the white man’s greed as some put it.
