What river shaped and cut the famous Grand Canyon in Arizona?
Once called the Grand or Grande River it is the mighty Colorado River which begins with a whimper when the snows begin to melt on the Western Slope of the Colorado Rockies and gains power volume and force as it cources through Utah and Arizona to end as it began with a whimper at the Sea of Cortez. During its journey it fills vast reservoirs, generates power and irrigates vast croplands.
