What revenue protection measures are being taken to ensure people pay the correct fare?
MyWay cards are supplied as standard user cards (i.e. fares are deducted as a standard user). For cards to be changed to concession you must visit a MyWay Centre or Canberra Connect Shopfront to fill out a concession application form. The information provided will then be cross-checked with Centrelink to confirm that concessions are still current. If a concession has ceased the system will then automatically change the card back to standard user and the customer pays the full fare. Once the system is fully implemented spot audits using hand-held devices will be considered.
