A. It depends on what your budget will allow and what you intend to do with the scanned images that we create for you. For slide and negative scans: We typically scan slides and negatives at a resolution of 2000dpi. This resolution brings out all the details of the image and is perfect for the CD-ROM slideshow included with all orders. 2000dpi will also allow you to make prints of any image you wish up to 6×9. If you want to make prints larger than 6×9, a higher resolution will be required. However the higher the resolution the longer it takes for us to scan. The longer it takes to scan the fewer items we can get done. Therefore the price per item increases. Please view the table on our pricing page for additional information. Photographs: As compared to either slides or negatives, photographs provide a large original to scan. Therefore, the larger the original the lower the resolution that is needed. For example, a 35mm slide scanned at 2000 dpi will produce the same size digital imag
