Home and alternate-site infusion therapy is much more than just the dispensing of drugs. Most third-party payers require infusion therapy pharmacies to undergo a process of voluntary accreditation as a means of validating the organization’s compliance with state and federal regulations and professional standards of practice, and that it is providing clinical and supportive services in a manner designed to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
