What requirements are there for citing sources in a speech?
Students would not be expected to cite sources at the early grades (3-5). When using statistics and the like starting at grade 6, students should cite their sources. In addition to citing sources within the speech (e.g., “According to the Department of Transportation, more than 20,000 people each year die in traffic accidents.”), students may turn in a written bibliography of sources.
