What requirements are involved in the admission process?
All applicants to the counselor education program are required to submit the following materials to: Graduate Enrollment Services, LWH 0006 Northeastern Illinois University 5500 N. St. Louis Avenue Chicago, Illinois 60625 graduate college application; counselor education application; original transcripts from all universities attended; GRE scores; self-recommendation letter; two letters of recommendation; evidence of psychology courses based on the area of study applied for; and resume showing work/volunteer experience. Additional requirements for school counseling applicants include: copy of teaching certificate. For applicants to school counseling who do not hold teacher certification, evidence of taking and passing the Basic Skills Test and taking and passing a background check must be included in your application.
