Solymar was one of the first hotels in the Hotel Zone to become operational again after the hurricane. THe resort was reopened just 2 days after Wilma left Cancun. In 2006, Solymar underwent a complete 3 million dollar renovation including new elevators, a new beach bar and beach facilities, new roofing, new paint and lighting throughout the entire resort, and new palm trees and landscaping. Solymar is now better than ever!
