True Christians are the spiritual men and woman of the world. Born again of the Spirit, every true Christian is supposed to lead the poor, downtrodden, and the lost EAST and toward the invisible Kingdom of Christ. Leading east means the believer and the poverty stricken are facing their future and moving toward the Living God. Most of the worlds poor are following political and religious leaders west AND away from the invisible God. Look at the political arena of any nation! Are not the poor even poorer because they have turned to left wing atheists, agnostics, and socialists for their future. NO future ever comes in from the west. To rid the world of poverty cultures on the land MUST face east in order for the Living God to BLESS their crop sowing and their future.

With so much of the world’s population in such lamentable condition, what’s a Christian to do? How should the Church respond? Christians should respond to global poverty and hunger with compassion. Having true compassion for the needy, as modeled by Jesus (Mark 8:2), means we are aware of the need, we care about the people involved, and we are ready to act on their behalf. Having compassion on a needy brother is proof of the love of God within us (1 John 3:17). We honor God when we are kind to the needy (Proverbs 14:31). Christians should respond to global poverty and hunger with action. Of course, prayer for those in need is something every Christian can do.
