What relationship was there between Indira Gandhi and Mahatma Gandhi?

She was not related to Mahatma Gandhi; she took her last name from her husband Feroze Gandhi, who changed his surname to “Gandhi” for political reasons.” She would have known the Mahatma, perhaps been influenced by him and his methods, but only through her father.
