What recommendations should rental companies make to their customers when renting a chipper/shredder?
The first step rental companies should do is ask its customers this question: What is their operating knowledge of brush chippers? No matter what level of experience, safety should be the No. 1 concern for rental businesses and its customers. Once operating instructions have been addressed, rental customers should be provided with a detailed demonstration on proper brush chipper operation. The demonstration should not be a rushed process and should include questioning the customer if he or she fully understands each step. Rental store employees should provide customers with necessary contact information so if the renter has additional questions or the machine malfunctions, the renter can contact the rental store for assistance.
