What reason can I give the cable company so that they reset my ip address?
Perhaps try manually getting a new IP. You can also poweroff your cable modem for an extended period of time (4 hours perhaps…maybe even 24 hours). Then plug it back in and it will probably get a new IP since your old one will be re-allocated to someone else. A reason would be that you think you’ve been disabled on accident or something. I don’t know why they can’t just relase/renew pulse down the line. I’d stay away from talking about identity theft, since then they’ll be suspicious of your own identity asking to do stuff to the cable.
