What, really, is the fastest Internet browser to run on Windows (XP/Vista/7)?
Fix your line speed then worry about the browser — also clean up your computer – just unneeded programs in your startup and lack of memory (MEMORY, not “disk space” (that’s different)) can cause a 30% difference in apparent Inet speed. The browser speed has little to do with it — how good/fast is your Inet connection? If you are using Dial-up, ISDN,DSL etc, the lack of line speed will kill the browser anyway. Get Verizon FIOS as fast as you can afford is best, then Cable TV as fast as you can afford, then mobile broadband, then whatever else is available in your area. And if you use wireless in your home or business, make sure ALL!!! components are Class N, because you are wasting time and money using Class G wireless equipment. Go to speedtest.net and check out your connection. Compare it with averages for your connection type and averages of different connection types. Then worry about the browser. In many cases, “speed” is in your personal perception and not a function of the data
