WHAT REALLY HAPPENED TO JIM IRWIN AFTER APOLLO 15?
Irwin returned from the moon with extraordinary cardiovascular problems, manifested not only by severe hypertension during bicycle stress tests, but also cyanosis of the nail beds during exercise, impairment in cardiac function, and a significant delay in recovery of cardiac function in the next few weeks in comparison with the astronauts who returned from the moon after the other 5 missions. For example his blood pressures in conjunction with one of the stress tests (NO DATE ) was 250/125 after the third minute, 275/125 after the fourth minute, 275/125 after the fifth minute. Although there is no date, as I stated in a paper in the Journal of the British Interplanetary Society, it is illogical to conceive that the example described occurred prior to Irwin’s lunar departure. Irwin did however have moderate hypertension prior to this mission. These extraordinary blood pressure levels at such a low workload of exercise, associated with heart rates of only 130/minute, have never been witn
