The Harajuku Barbie Comes To Chocolate City This just in….. Rap impressario Nicki Minaj, also known as the Harajuku Barbie, will be in Fayetteville for the first time tonight at Chocolate City – formerly Club City Limits. Promoters say that she’s expected to bring a few affiliates from the Young Money label to perform. A certain rapper from Dipset may be at the event, too. The venue is located at 6323 Raeford Road. Tickets are $15, and the show starts at 10 p.m. The 24-year-old lyricist has several mixtapes out including this year’s “Beam Me Up Scotty” and is now signed to Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment. She’s expected to drop her label debut next year. Nicki Minaj must be reveling in the compliment bestowed upon her by newcomer Drake, who recently called Minaj the “best female rapper alive.” According to TheBoomBox.com, Drake watched her do her thing at the 2009 BET Hip-Hop Awards, and he tweeted, “EVERYBODY JUST GOT ATE!!!! @NICKIMINAJ is the best female rapper alive.” Nicki Minaj is one of the best female rappers around (via DJLightsOut.net) Nicki’s nickname is “Harajuku Barbie” and her freestyle skills are apparently something special to behold. She was discovered on MySpace and won the Female Artist of the Year award at the Underground Music Awards last year. She hasn’t released any albums of her own yet, but she has been featured on mixtapes with Lil Wayne and also tagged along on his America’s Most Wanted tour with Soulja Boy.
