Both Q and V scores must be very high for university-wide FSU Fellowship consideration. TAs, RAs, and a few Fellowships are awarded within the department. For those who receive departmental funding, the goal is to make awards to students who will succeed in completing the PhD. Exam scores are typically above the minimums (see above) but they just one of the clues pointing out which applicants will be successful. Previous course history and descriptions from recommenders are important success indicators.
