What radiation shielding is present in the mobile CT?
The mobile unit has been designed to provide radiation shielding for the areas adjacent to the procedure room. A proprietary and highly effective lead shielding system is installed in the gantry and patient prep room walls. The lead shielding is designed to meet or exceed the mobile CT site plan requirements of the medical equipment manufacturer. Lead shielded windows are installed in the patient prep and gantry room walls and doors. This allows easy patient monitoring from either a standing position or a sitting position at the operator’s console.
