j&j one touch is good, but the major disadvantage is that the strips have to be all used within 4 months. there are several other companies which are competitors, the ones commonly used would be roche and optima, which can give you the machine free of cost on purchase of strips and the strip cost per test is also lower with comparable results to one touch. morepen is not quite up to the mark. i may add that it is worth buying a glucometer only if you are intending to check your sugar levels daily. otherwise it is just not cost-effective, you would be better off doing a regular fasting and post-meals sugar from your nearby lab.
