What r the laws and rules of probation in USA as far as work is concerned?
The probation officer may have some ideas as to where your friend can look for work, but s/he is under no legal obligation to help him find a job… It’s his responsibility, not his PO’s, to be employed as a condition of his probation… Goodwill has an employment program in our area that helps probationers put together resumes and points them in the direction of companies that hire people with criminal histories… They might have a program like that in your friend’s area… Temporary employment agencies (like Manpower) can be helpful, too… They can place someone in a company that hires people with criminal histories, and often, if the person does good work over the course of 90 days or 6 months or a year, the company will hire that person as a full-time employee… Your friend should talk to his PO about this… There could be other programs unique to your friend’s location that your PO might know about…
