India is planning to improve its ties with the US.As a first step, the Nuclear deal was negotiated.Unfortunately the Left parties who consider the US as their number one enemy,have tried to blackmail the government into giving up the deal eventhough the Congress is trying to win their support.After much dithering,the Congress which is the lead party in the coalition government at the center,is showing some spine by trying to woo other political parties to extend support to the government and the deal.If the Congress is successful,and the deal is operationalised,this will be the forerunner for cementing permanent ties with the US for cooperation in virtually every field.This in turn will pave the way for speedier progress and development of the country,its economy, technology,and above all its standing among the international community with better prospects for securing a permanent seat in the UN with the possibilty of even veto power.In short the sky will be the limit for India and its
