A pretty vague question, but I will give it a shot. There are several objectives to photography, associated with different fields of photography. Photojournalism is the field that concentrates on recording events. The objective is to capture, sometimes with only one image, the essence of what is going on at the event. The can be challenging because of timing. Generally the photographer is not supposed to be interacting with the event, only recording it. Sports photography is a subset of photojournalism. The objective is to capture the action of the sporting event. There are a lot of emotions and actions that occur during a sporting event, so there is a lot to consider and watch for. Timing and a little bit of luck are very important. Fashion photography is a wonderful blend of artistic and commercial photography.
