What questions should I ask the interviewers in a Head of Department Interview?

I have interviewed for many jobs including headteachers and deputy headteachers. I personally dislike candidates asking what they think are smart questions for the sake of it, that is when they don’t really want the answers or when they have been given the answers in writing or during the selection process. If there is nothing you really want to know, you can say ‘I think all the questions I had have been answered through the information provided today (or through the selection process) and from the website. I’m sure if I am fortunate enough to be offered the post there will be lots to follow up but I think I have sufficient information for now, thank you. Unless there is something about this particular post that you need to know and have been unable to find out through info sent out, their website, what they have told you. Good luck with the interview.
