CLEAN WATER – The water must be free of sediment, and quite clear. SOFT WATER – The water, preferably, to be very low in calcium, magnesium and no iron present for dairy shed cleaning. For stock water, making minerals available, allows animal to better absorb these. BACTERIA FREE WATER – The water must be either free of pathogenic bacteria, commonly known as E coli, coliforms and other ungrouped bacteria, particularly for calf water. ALGAE FREE WATER – All sorts of parasites and toxins will be released from algae affected water supplies. This most certainly needs to kept out of dairies but also out of the stock water where possible.
