What quality can I expect if I use a paper in a digital printing press that isnt certified for that press?
A. Most paper manufactures, including Neenah Paper, choose to certify selected colors because each colored substrate is a separate certification trial. Once one color is certified, there is a high probability that other colors in that brand will have similar runnability because mechanical properties should be affected only slightly, if at all, by the presence of dyes and pigments. However, varying color substrates will change the ICC color profile settings against Pantone targets. If varying the weight, refer to the equipment manufacturers specification sheet for optimal limits. Neenah Paper encourages testing paper on your particular device.
